The Larkspur real estate subdivision is located in the southwest section of Virginia Beach in the Kempsville school district. These schools include Kempsville Meadows elementary, Larkspur Middle School, and Kempsville High School.

Larkspur is known for the “Kempsville ranch” style home which predominantly has a brick exterior, garage, hardwood floors, and mostly built in the 1950s thru the 1970s. There are homes in Larkspur that have the later modern look with exterior differences.
