Blame it on the slow new construction market in Virginia Beach and elsewhere, but this year’s

real estate showcase will feature much fewer builders.

Now for the good stuff……this year’s real estate event in Ashville Park will feature fabulous homes with the latest in architecture, “greening” furnishings, and technology.  Also, the layout of the community is stunning.

The latest Virginia Beach real estate homearama news as of this updated posting (Aug 25) includes the Miller Custom Home with its solar panels and geo thermal heating and cooling system.  Also, the Ashville Park home boasts cement walls with styrofoam for better insulation.  As reported on a radio show with Miller Custom homes owner, the new heating and cooling system will result in monthly bills no more than $125.00 for a 6000 square foot home.

According to the Virginian-Pilot, many builders have bypassed this year’s event because of
existing inventory and no desire to take on extra debt.   Some builders are still trying to sell last year’s inventory located in Edinburgh Meadows, Chesapeake, VA.

Others site this year’s event located in the Pungo section of Virginia Beach as too
far to drive.  I am not sure of that rationale considering the buyer in the market for this particular real estate
probably does not have to worry about gas prices and the visitor is able to view the latest and greatest in home building, regardless of future purchasing power. It is just not that far out of the way to view a great real estate community.

Sam Cohen, owner of Joey Corp and this year’s Ashville Homearama chairman states that probably about 98 percent of the visitors just like to see the newest stuff, particularly in the over one million real estate price category. (note:  there are other real estate sections of Ashville Park with a variety of lesser prices).

Having wrote previous posts about Ashville Park and personally toured the site, future buyers
and visitors will not be disappointed - the Ashville Park community is perfectly designed and beautiful.

Admission to the Virginia Beach homearama will be $10.00 for a one day pass and $17.00 for a two day pass.  Discount for military.
